New Year, New Faces!
With the New Year, we are adding a new face. I am truly honored to introduce, Kim she is an extraordinary women, who every day does her best to uplift and empower other women. When I started my own journey as a doula I wanted to help families through birth, show them there are options and you have a voice in your own birth story but my world grew the more I educated my self, through my Stillbirthday training, QUILT training and through meeting Kim.
There is more to being a doula then helping mothers manage pain during labor, there is so much that happens before giving birth. For a lot of my clients things typically start with prenatal care, lots of education on their choices during delivery and how to help them transition after birth, but for some a loss can occur before or after delivery, and for others it can mean choosing a different path altogether and ending their pregnancies.
At Taylor Bodell Birth Services I want everyone to have support, if a family is looking to grow, help with grief, a hand to hold, an ear to listen, that is what I am here for. I have personally known Kim for many years now and I know she will be a great addition to the team. Kim has written the following to help you all get to know her better.
“My name is Kim, I’m 22 years old, living in Lansing, Michigan! My boyfriend and I got pregnant unexpectedly 2 years ago and decided to go with an abortion. I was always passionate about a woman’s ability to choose but after that situation I became even more passionate. I want to be here to help out anyone in the situation! I was lucky to be surrounded my people, who were extremely supportive, and I was very content with my decision but I know not everyone is that lucky. I’m here to provide support and reassurance for anyone who needs it. I am also here for anyone who is looking at his or her options; I will provide any information you are looking for. I am judgment free, and I will never pressure you to do anything you don’t feel comfortable with. I hope I’m able to service you, I look forward to helping women making tough decisions like myself.”
I am happy to bring Kim to Taylor Bodell Birth Services; she is currently here to help people through the decision and procedure if you so choose to end the pregnancy. If you are going through a miscarriage, have already had a loss or just need support, we are here to help and support you through your journey.
